Assessment is the ongoing process we use to find out what every child knows and can do. Assessment and curriculum are closely linked.

The child outcomes assessment system used by GTP is the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum of Infants, Toddlers and Two’s, and the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum for Ages 3-5. These are strengths-based approaches that help caregivers collect ongoing information through observation during everyday classroom activities and experiences.

The goals and objectives are not only fundamentally sound to early childhood programs, but also cover the Early Head Start/Head Start domains, as well as Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards.

Growing Together Preschool feels that parents know their children best and are their child’s first teacher. To have a complete picture of each child’s strengths, needs, interests and abilities, communication with families is essential.

Teachers analyze children’s progress in the fall, winter and spring. Teachers follow up by conducting parent-teacher conferences twice a year in the fall and in the spring. The parent-teacher conference is an opportunity for the caregiver to share their observations, share samples of your child’s work and hear what you are observing about your child’s progress at home.

The parent and teacher will plan together how to best support a child’s development and learning at home and school.
